Biography & Exhibitions
Sally holds an honours diploma in Material Arts from
The Ontario College of Art in Toronto and has attended courses at
The Haliburton School of Art, LaTrobe College of Art and Design in Melbourne, Australia and NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
She has also studied with many artists in workshops in both Ontario and Nova Scotia.
Now primarily a printmaker, Sally’s work reflects a materials-based fascination with line and texture. She exhibits principally at Peer Gallery in Lunenburg and her work can be found in collections in Canada, US, UK, Europe and Australia.
Over the years she has stretched her art practice in many directions, working as an artist,
developing art curriculum, and coordinating as well as teaching art programs and courses.
Her interests are focused on education and community building through visual arts.
Sally is a member of Peer Gallery of Contemporary Art, The Mahone Bay Printmakers
and the Lunenburg Art Society. She founded “Access Art” an annual series of workshops
taught by Nova Scotia artists and she coordinates the weekly Mahone Bay Life Drawing Group.
In addition to her art career Sally spent over twenty years in Museum and Gallery Education,
working as Education Officer for the Peterborough Museum and Archives and as Course Director for Museum Education and Interpretation for both the Ontario Museum Association Certificate Program and the Fleming College Museum Management and Curatorship Program.
Since her retirement in 2006, she has been working occasionally as a consultant in that field.
